My buddies and I love to go on ski trips. Whenever the winter holidays arrive, we would all go up north and go skiing together. We have been doing this for years now and it has already become a ritual. Of course, we were only able to do this because one of our buddies owns a cottage in the mountains. It was able to save us on hotel a accommodation, that is why we can stay for a good 3 to 4 nights.

What I simply love about the cottage—aside from the fact that it is free—is that it has a big brick fireplace in the living room. Nothing beats going on a snowy mountain trip than gathering around the fireplace to keep warm and just chatting and partying all night as we all catch up with one another. So I decided that I wanted to have my own fireplace at home; however, it was impossible to get one in my living room since it was too cramped so I opted to get an outdoor one instead. I rushed out and searched for some outdoor brick fireplace designs and had it made in my garden. Even though the garden lacked snow, the warmth and atmosphere was enough to give the same kind of warm feeling that I get up in that mountain cabin.
