Grandma’s Heritage: Antique Sewing Cabinet

When I was young, I used to spend a lot of time with my grandparents. This was because both of my parents were working at that time and they usually had to ask my grandparents to watch over me. Sometimes I would stay at my grandparent’s place for days especially if my parents were on business trips or something. I didn’t quite mind actually, since I enjoy being with my grandparents, especially my grandma. I always spend my days playing around or listening to stories that my grandpa would tell and at the afternoon, grandma would always have a batch of freshly baked cookies ready for me.

A few years have passed and my mom has stopped working and got an early retirement. She said she found it too hard to work now that I have a younger brother. So my visits with my grandparents were severely lessened. A few more years have passed and my grandma passed away. I was so shocked and saddened by the news. A few days later we found out that she left a will and that she leaves to me her old Antique Sewing Cabinet. I was reduced to tears because it was the same one that was in the room where she would serve me cookies. I will keep this heritage from grandma and take care of it since this is the only thing I have to remember her by.
